Prof. Olumide A. Adenuga
Professor ’Olumide Adenuga is a seasoned expert in project and facilities management and currently serves as the Dean, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, he is a professor of Building with core specializations in construction management, construction technology, maintenance management, and facilities management. With over three decades of academic and research experience, he has made significant contributions to both polytechnic and university education in Nigeria. Throughout his career, Professor Adenuga has held numerous academic, administrative, and leadership roles. He has served as Head of Department in the polytechnic system and held both acting and substantive Head of Department positions at the university level. He has also functioned as a course adviser across various levels and was the coordinator of postgraduate programmes for four years. He currently serves as the Chairman, Faculty of Education Examination Misconduct Committee at University of Lagos. In addition to his academic duties, he has overseen the management of financial and material resources within the institutions.
A registered Builder and Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Building, Professor Adenuga has contributed to national development through service on various federal government committees. Notably, he was appointed by the federal government on Nigeria as a member of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) and served as Chairman of the committee that investigated and produced the technical report on the collapse of the 21-storey building on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos. He has received multiple research grants, both from the University of Lagos and external sources. His academic accomplishments include delivering his inaugural lecture in 2018, a key milestone in scholarly recognition.
Professor Adenuga is currently the Dean, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, University of Lagos and also leads the Sustainable Construction and Skills Development Research Cluster at the Centre for Urbanization and Habitable Cities, an African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Centre of Excellence. He has authored over seventy publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings at both national and international levels. He is a member of the University of Lagos Senate and serves on the editorial and review boards of several esteemed academic journals.
