Dr. Farinmade is a registered Town planner with specialist skills in Urban Informal Commercial Activities planning, Urban Economics, Urban Renewal and Regeneration. He obtained a B.Sc. (Hons) Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Obafemi Awolowo University, in 1992; M.Sc. Urban and Regional Planning from Obafemi Awolowo University in 2000 and PhD in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Lagos in 2015.He began his teaching career at the University of Lagos in 2007 in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning.

His voyage in the University has seen him supervised several undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has published several academic papers in books,articles and journals . He is actively involved in research, teaching and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduates candidates. He has served he University in several capacities including: Chairman of Faculty of Environmental Science Facilities Management Committee ( 2015-2017): Faculty of Environmental Science Sexual Harassment (2021-2024), Faculty of Environmental Science Internal Revenue/Finance Committee(2025-Till date), DURP Academic Mentoring Committee): DURP Publication Committee.
