Victor Uju Ilechukwu is an Associate Professor of Urban Housing & Sustainable Development in Department of Urban and Regional Planning, University of Lagos, Nigeria. He holds Bachelor of Science Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from University of Nigeria, Nsukka (1982-March 1988), Masters’ degree in Urban and Regional Planning (1989- 1991) and PhD in Urban Geography (2006 – 2012), both from University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. His areas of research interests include Urban Housing and Land development studies, Sustainable Development and Urbanization Dynamics studies.

He served as Sub-Dean, Faculty of Environmental Sciences for two terms (2021-2022, 2022 – 2023)
Dr Ilechukwu was appointed Assistant Lecturer, Department of Urban and Regional Planning, University of Lagos (2005-2012), Lecturer II (2012-2015), Lecturer I (2015-2018), Senior Lecturer (2018-2021), and Associate Professor (2021 till date). He has taught numerous courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, focusing on Project Planning, Housing, Planning Law, Urban Development Policies, Globalization and Regional Development, Transportation Logistics Planning, etc, till date. He has supervised over
220 students at undergraduate level, 100 students at postgraduate level, and currently 4 Ph.D. students, till date. He has authored over 30 peer-reviewed papers in both foreign and local journals.
Dr. Ilechukwu is a member of Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (MNITP/972) and a Registered Town Planner (RTP/789). He is married with children.
