Dr. ONIFADE, Victor Abimbola

Personal Statement

ONIFADE, Victor Abimbola, is an Associate Professor of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and a registered Town Planner. He holds a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Ibadan and has over 15 years of experience in university teaching, research, and community service. His scholarly work spans housing, sustainable livelihoods, urban management, and development planning, with extensive publications in reputable local and international journals and books.

He has won the University of Lagos Central Research Grant award and served as Co-Principal Investigator on several research grants which include NIHR Global Health Research Group on Diet and Activity- A Syndemic approach to the prevention of diet and physical activity related NCDs project 2022-2025 and The Erasmus Trust fund of the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University; Project; Resilience to Shocks in Informal Settlements of African Cities under Increasing Uncertainty: Co-production for Evidence-Informed Local to City Level Resilience Strategies 2023- 2026. He participated in the Erasmus+ KA171 Exchange Program at Istanbul Kultur University in December, 2025. He has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate Dissertations.
