Dr. SALAU, Taofik Iyanda

Personal Statement

Dr. Salau is a registered town planner with particular specialisation in Urban Transportation, Planning Methods and Models and Master Planning. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Lagos, where he is serving as Head of Department. He received his first degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and postgraduate degrees in Transportation Studies and Urban and Regional Planning from Ogun State (now Olabisi Onabanjo) University, Ago-Iwoye and the University of Ibadan. He obtained his PhD. at the University of Ibadan, specialising in Urban Transportation within the field of Urban and Regional Planning.


He has over 20 years of experience in university teaching, research, and community service. His scholarly work spans Urban transportation, campus masterplanning and development, and impact analysis, with extensive publications in reputable local and international journals and books. He has won the TETFund Research Grant.
A Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) and a registered planner with the Town Planners Registration Council (TOPREC), Dr Salau has made significant contributions to the fields of Urban and Regional Planning through numerous local and international journal articles and book chapters.
His academic and professional engagements has enabled him to participate in seminars, conferences, and workshops and has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
