Head of Department - Prof. H.A. Koleoso
Prof. Hikmot Adunola Koleoso is a Professor and Head of the Department of Estate Management at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Nigeria. She holds a Ph.D. in Building with specialization in Facilities Management from the University of Lagos and postgraduate qualifications in Property Investment and International Education from the University of Reading and Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom.
With over 37 years of experience in teaching, research, and professional practice, Prof. Koleoso has developed expertise in sustainable performance management of facilities in the built environment, property valuation, sustainable land management, and real estate investment analysis. She has contributed to university governance as a member of the University Senate since 2018 and served as Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences between 2019 and 2021. Prof Koleoso played other leadership roles such as Coordinator of the Foundation Programme for the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Coordinator of the Department of Estate Management’s Post Graduate Programmes and its B.Sc Part-time Programme. She currently serves on the Boards of UNILAG Consult and UNILAG Property Development and Management Company and participates in several university standing committees. Professionally, Koleoso is the Immediate Past and Founding Director of Education of the Africa Facilities Management Association and currently serves on its Board of Trustees.
A registered member of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Prof. Koleoso has presented scholarly papers at conferences, symposiums and workshops and has served as a resource person in professional trainings, consultancy engagements and Mandatory Continuing Professional Development programmes for NIESV, ESVARBON and numerous public and private establishments, locally and internationally. She has authored nearly sixty peer-reviewed publications and has served as a reviewer for peer reviewed national and international journals. Prof. Koleoso has supervised 4 Ph.Ds., 48 Masters thesis and over 110 undergraduate students. She has served as External Examiner to other tertiary institutions nationally and internationally. Koleoso is a member of faculty of two Professional bodies and remains committed to mentoring young professionals through voluntary training initiatives that promote sustainable facilities and real estate management practice
